They are also good as police dogs and service animals. They work as guides for blinds and other disable persons.

Personality
Dutch herder dogs are very affectionate with their family. They make great family companions. They love to play so they are kid friendly. These dogs can socialize easily with other dogs. But they are quite unfriendly towards strangers.
Living With
These dogs adapt well to apartment living. They can tolerate both hot and cold weather. They are good for novice owners but they cannot tolerate being alone.

Dutch herder dogs are always eager to please their owners. They soak up all orders like a sponge. These dogs require early socialization. This will help them to stay calm around strangers.
Trainability
Dutch Shepherds are very easy to train. They are intelligent beyond words but not much potential for mouthiness. They have a tendency to bark or howl. So training them well would make them an allrounder.
Health
They have average health. These dogs don’t have much potential to gain weight. They are medium-sized dogs. They have moderate sensitivity levels. Dutch herder dogs have very few health problems.
Exercise & Activity Levels
Dutch Shepherd dogs are very energetic and they have higher intensity levels. They love to do one long walk and exercises regularly which helps them keep their body fit and healthy. They have the potential for playfulness.
